I'm still in shock to learn about Eric's passingsuch a shame for a fantastic human being whom we all cherish! A friendship that began while working on school projects during our MBA program - I still have fond memories of how he passionately shared with our study group his view on how to tackle a project. And many years later, pushing me hard on weights while working out together in my gym when he visited Hong Kong during his work travels.

My deepest condolences and thoughts go out to Lydia, Blake, Ayla and Colette. May the memories and spirits of Eric live strong amongst us! RIP May 26, 2021

I can't believe it took so long to find out we have lost Eric. I am stunned. He was a fantastic partner in grad school, chased small business dreams with me, and was a true anchor. The thought of a world without him is so empty. I can only imagine the hole left for Colette, Lydia, Blake and Ayla. His memory burns bright in my heart.

It was our good fortune to have met, and gotten to know, Eric, these past two years. Eric was a true gentleman, scholar, philosopher, adventurer, athlete and fixer of all things.
His love for life was infectious, and being around him made you become a better person.
Our love and prayers to Colette, his children, Matt, family and friends.

Eric was who I wanted to be when I grow up, and I'm 57. Amazing dad, partner, engineer, cook, fitness guru, and woodworker. I still have the scar on my table saw from that work we did on a sunny day all those years ago. It was fun recently coming across each other's paths professionally too, but I'll really miss his humor, texts, and cooking. I'm keeping all those texts because among the banter are some great practical 'what would Eric do' tips for basically just about everything. We will remember him fondly and are so sorry for his loss. All our best to Colette, Blake, Lydia, Ayla, Matt, and the rest of his family and friends.

Eric, was an amazing co-worker of mine when he was both at FM and at Aon. The world is a lesser place without his lifeforce. Thank god he lived 150 years in his far too short life time. Ray Morra, @ Aon and residing in Alamo CA

Eric was a co-worker of mine at Gilead and was a class act to work with - professional, honest, and always committed to doing the right thing. The planet lost someone very special. My condolences to those who loved him.

2020 was a year that took so many things away. However, none stung as hard as the unexpected loss of my friend Eric. In his passing the world lost one of the good guys. My dear dear friend Colette lost her soulmate. I'm thankful for the wonderful memories we shared and the many lessons he taught us: Work hard, play harder. Splurge on the finer things in life - you deserve them. Find friends who are like family, and take care of them. Reach out of the blue to let someone know you are thinking of them. Make time for adventures. Enjoy the finest things in life but also the simple pleasures - like the joy in a loud radio, a lifted pick-up truck and an open road ready to explore. Eric was one of my biggest fans, a sounding board for life and business, and he will be so very missed. Thank you Colette for bringing this wonderful friend into my life - my heart goes out to you and the kids.

Blake, Lydia, and Ayla. I am so sorry to learn of your dad's passing. I enjoyed the times I visited your family at your home for dinner. I remember teaching Ayla to write Chinese words. My prayer is God will cover each of you with His love and comfort. All the lovely memories of your dad will never leave you

So sad to hear of Eric's unexpected passing. He was an inspiration and motivator in his profession. Such a passionate individual that found his calling. I am so honored to have been privileged to know him, learn from him and call him a friend. His void is truly felt.

Living life to the fullest without regrets is something Eric did and I aspire to do the same. I am very sorry that he left all his family and friends to soon. I met Eric through my daughter Dalia who was friends with Lydia. She had a special connection with Eric.

This is so beautiful and gives such a clear picture of who Eric is. It sounds to me like he lived several lifetimes in his 56 years on this earth. A life to be proud of and a person for so many friends and family to miss deeply. My sincere condolences to his 3 very loved children and to my dear childhood friend Colette who now must find a new normal without the love of her life!

I met Eric during his employment at Genentech. He'd stop by my office to talk about the bike rides and training he had done. I was simply exhausted listening to him describe the elevations he'd completed climbing in a single day. We'd also discuss his vast, yet impressive, collection of bikes he had amassed. He was a good man, and I'm very sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Eric. He was a tremendous business partner and I learned from him every time we tackled a new challenge. He was a special person and taken from us far too soon. My deepest sympathy extends to his family and friends!

So very sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I only knew him through an industry group, but I always viewed him as a person of high moral character. We will miss him!
