Eric was my boss at Loyola University. He was one of the bosses I´ve ever had.

I have just learned of this incredible loss. Eric and I met through his role as a consultant with the college I worked for. He was kind, patient, and calm in the midst of the storm. He spoke with incredible pride when talking about his children and his wife. I am so sorry for your loss, and void that so many will now feel. Eric was a good man and I will forever remember him as such. My love and prayers are with his family.

Eric was a virtual fount of financial aid expertise that I drew from on a regular basis when we both worked at Loyola Chicago. Sometimes, even if he was in his office when I would come down for help I would have to wait until the phone-queue of students and parents waiting to speak with a Financial Aid Advisor had disappeared. That´s because when the incoming calls were backed up he would jump into the queue himself. I always thought that the unsuspecting student or parent whose call was answered by Eric had won the customer service jackpot, the jackpot being a correct and comprehensive answer to their question/s. I missed him when he left Loyola. News of his death has come as quite a shock. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I am literally heartbroken. I worked closely with Eric as he was a consultant at the community college I worked at. We would share our knowledge of financial aid with each other. He will be truly missed in the higher education world.

This news is very hard to believe. Eric was my boss at Loyola for over 10 years. It was a pleasure working with him. He really knew financial aid inside and out and he made sure to share the knowledge. He was a true professional that really cared about his staff. He will truly be missed. RIP Eric.

Since Eric was a year older than me, he's the person I've known the longer than anyone other than our mom. As kids, we rode bikes together, played many games of wiffle ball in the back yard, played in the creek down the road from our house. He was so smart, so funny. Always texted us funny things and inside jokes from when we were younger. He always recommended good music, not always things we may have heard of but songs and artists he thought we'd like, and he was usually spot on. He was a very good athlete, having played many, many games of basketball & slow pitch softball, and an all around sports fan - go Cards, Vikings & Spurs! I'll miss him so much but glad he was such a big part of my life. Sending love to all his friends and the entire family, especially Hayden and all the kids.

I still can´t believe that Eric has passed away. We definitely would´ve talked yesterday when Tottenham gave up that late goal to draw 2 to 2 versus Everton. So many good memories from our days at Augustana college in the Gamma alpha, beta fraternity. Chair dancing was his specialty! I already miss our conversations about whether the Cardinals have signed enough pitching this off-season to make a difference. Peggy and I are so glad that we had the opportunity to meet Hayden and Hollis about a year and a half ago when we all attended a Cardinal game at Bush Stadium together, and then Dinner on the Hill. Eric was always interested not only in what you were doing but your family as well. He personally gave us a tour at Loyola University, when our older two sons visited there while looking at colleges. Hayden and Hollis and Eric´s entire family remain in our prayers.

I had a chance to work with Eric over the last couple years, but we never actually met in person. He was always quick to give praise and recognition for a job well done and was great at contributing valuable information to our conversations. I enjoyed our interactions and wish I had a chance to learn more about his personal life. I'm sending prayers to Haley and the kids for comfort and peace during this time where they will be navigating their world without Eric.

Eric was the best at grabbing opportunity to meet everyone where they are at.. he wanted to know what you were doing and would listen repeat whatever success you were having right back in your face while he supported the challenges.. he is an opitmistic friend who saw the good and will always be that when we think.. what would Eric do in this situation .. put on the garage rock and get to the basics of building a solution.. simple solutions from a complex guy

Eric was the love of my life, healed parts of me he didn't break, and showed love that I did not know was possible. He was an incredible father and our children are lucky to have had such an amazing dad. Please share a memory or two so that they can be shared with them.
