Erica Lynn Summers

ERICA LYNN SUMMERS JUN 1975 ~ JAN 2011 Erica L. Summers lost her courageous fight against breast cancer on Saturday; she passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House with her family by her side. Erica was born in San Diego, moving to Hilmar as a child; Erica attended school in Hilmar, graduating from Hilmar High in 1993. She continued her education at MJC. In 1994 Erica met Scott Summers, whom would later grow to be the love of her life; they married on May 17, 1997 after just a few weeks of marriage they settled into their home in Alaska. In 2002 Tristan entered their life followed by Brooke in 2005. Though she worked as a banker for 10 years, her priority in life was her family & her children. She was an incredible mother, and a proud Hockey Mom, who sincerely loved to volunteer her time in her kid's classrooms, the local Hockey Association or wherever it was needed. Facing her own diagnosis, she became active in raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness and even walked in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk for the Cure in San Francisco twice; she was joined by her mother and her sister. Above all Erica was a loving and nurturing person, who cared deeply for people. Erica leaves behind her loving husband of 13 years, Scott Summers, her children Tristan and Brooke all of Kenai, Alaska, her sister Kelly Von Aspern of Hilmar, brothers Russell Dunn of Omaha, NE, and Stephen Dunn of Lawton, Ok and her parents Michael and Terri Fultz of Hilmar Breast Cancer awareness' was important to Erica & in her honor we ask that in lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Susan G.
