Erich Abt Obituary
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; his parents, John and Agnes Abt; and his niece, Lisa Abt Speraneo. Erich is survived by his daughters, Christine Zimmermann (Curt) of Jacksonville, FL, and Joanne Lombardi (David) of Apex, North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Raymond Lombardi, Kyle Lombardi, and Erin Kress; his brother, Robert Abt (deceased Betty); and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
A private interment took place at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on May 30, 2025.

Erich and I served together at McGuire AFB and then at Pan Am. I have many great memories of our times together. Always the guy that kept his tools in perfect order and I remember he loved that VW beetle when we were at McGuire. In fact he drove everyone crazy about it so a bunch of guys got together pick it up and hide it in the back of our barrackers. He thought someone stole it. Everyone thought it was funny except Erich. Many New Years Eve Parties too. He visited us in PA a number of years ago. Way too many stories he will be missed by many Pan Am buddies. Our heartfelt condolences to all of the family.
