My family and I saw Erik in Maul in 2002, and loved his music. We bought his CD after we saw him in Lahaina, and talked with him between sets. What a wonderful guy. I still love listening to his music. His was our go to CD when we traveled to the mountains to go fishing. (We live in Colorado) Now my husband and Erik are in heaven hanging out together.

Met him doing his music and comedy in Pentwater, Michigan. Lovely funny guy. So sad he has left us. He was down to earth and he'd lived. So sad he's gone. Great memories of his shows in Pentwater.

RIP Erik

I was lucky enough to meet The Whaleshak, share a few beers and listen to his stories and songs in Maui in 2005 a couple of times. I still listen to his music today as it brings back great memories. Erik, Lahaina and Maui will always be in my thoughts. I'm glad our paths crossed.

My wife and I visited Maui in 2002 and the highlight was listening and interacting with Erik one evening. We still have an autographed CD from him. We are preparing to go back to Maui soon and I was looking Erik up to see if he was still sharing his talents. I was very saddened to hear of his passing a few years ago. May he Rest Peacefully and comfort be given to his family. We will miss him always.

I miss my friend. We are having our third annual remembrance party in honor of Erik this weekend. We have a group of Pietch lovers and get together once a year near his birthday "Third week in August" and celebrate his life. Erik used to visit central California on each of his tours of the mainland. I miss him!!

I am so sorry to just find out the news of Erik´s passing. He and I and recently reconnected after our years together at La Salle High School. To this day, I can´t recall laughing harder than I did with Erik. He was such a funny and sincere guy. My condolences to his family. I hope that Erik is at peace.

We are very saddened to hear of Erik’s passing. We met Erik in 2001 on the island of Maui, we spent many days over the years on the ocean with Eric. His vast knowledge for the sea was magnetic to us, we snorkeled so many spots, even took me and our oldest boy on his birthday to a secret spot to find many docile white tip sharks. We always had so much fun. Many evenings were spent together telling stories, playing music, enjoying life! We will keep you in our memories, we are fortunate to have met and known you. Peace to all of us.

I didn't know Erik as an adult but knew him as a child and knew of him in his early adult life from his mother,Karoline. Karoline and I worked together in the 70's in the E.R. at Abington Memorial Hospital. I remember him as a sweet boy with blond hair, smiling and polite. My prayers and condolences go to his wife and children and to Karoline and his siblings. May you find peace in the memories you have of Eric. God bless you.
Fondly,
