Erin McCOLGAN Obituary
1963 - 2013
Peacefully passed away on August 4th, age 49 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Cherished mother of Jaime Birnie, dearly loved daughter of Shirley, predeceased by her father Arnold and brothers Dan and Scott. She leaves to mourn her cherished sister Laurie Moore (Toronto) and brother Michael (Monique Thirlwell). Dear niece of Lois Hollingsworth (Holly). Many thanks to all those who helped her on her difficult journey. She never lost her caring sense of humour. Memorial mass on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. with an hour visitation prior the service at St. John Fisher Church, 120 Summerhill and Valois Bay, Pointe-Claire. A donation to the Oncology Department, Montreal General Hospital at 1650 Cedar, Montreal, Qc, H3G 1A4 or the West Island Palliative Care Residence, 265 André Brunet, Kirkland, Qc, H9H 3R4 would be greatly appreciated. Erin will be missed by all. Arrangements entrusted by Collins Clarke MacGillivray White in Pointe-Claire.

Shirley, Laurie, Michael and Jaime,
I was immediately struck by thoughts of you and how hard this must be for each of you. I'm at a loss for words to express my sympathies, yet felt compelled to reach out. Erin and I lost contact many years ago - the last time we saw each 2005 and I was not even aware that she was loosing her battle with cancer until she was already gone. I will always regret not getting in touch and hope to speak to some if not all of you by years end. Sincerely, Shelley

Mrs. McColgan, Laurie, Michael and Jaime,
I am saddened by the news of Erin's passing. My sympathy goes out to all of you and the rest of the family. Growing up, I sometimes thought I had two little sisters, Shelley and Erin. They were quite the pair. I have many fond memories of Erin with our family. It is so sad to hear that she is gone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
