I knew Erin from Chamber Singers at Earlham; we stood next to each other in the soprano section. It was always fun to chat with her before choir practice started—she was kind and funny. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. My sympathies to her loved ones.

Chris and Bailey, I am so sorry for your tragic loss of Erin. My heart breaks for both of you. Erin was a beautiful lady inside and out. I am blessed to have known her. Our talks about Wesley and Bailey were such beautiful stories of them both. She was so proud of them both. And her love for all of you, that rich and pure love for you, Chris as her husband, as well as Bailey and Wesley, is never ending. Hold tight to that. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. I pray God will wrap His arms around both of you and carry you through these hard to come days. Im here if you need anything, Angie Mescher

Dear Chris and Bailey,
I am at my computer listening to beautiful but rather sad gospel singing on youtube by a group I found by chance (Pine Forge Academy in NJ). I saw a fb post you (Chris) made that brought me to the Jagers site. I cannot imagine your sadness and grief. Erin and Wesley brought joy to our world. The two of you carry their love and make the world a brighter place. Thank you for being who you are. Peace.

Chris and Bailey, our hearts and prayers are yours. We loved being on a ministry team at Athens First UMC with Erin. We loved caring for your kids and getting to know your family as youth pastors. May God’s deep peace be yours!

Erin was such a wonderful, warm, caring, and giving member at Athens First UMC, and I was privileged to not only get to know her and her family through church, but also through shared life experiences. I will miss our talks about our lives, our children, and most especially our laughter at bell choir. She mattered, and I will miss her tremendously. Much love to the entire family.

I am shocked and saddened about Erin. I got to know Erin as a child when she spent summers in Prince Edward Island with her family. The Kelleys were our wonderful cottage neighbours.
Erin was always so kind to me, the little girl following her about. Over the years, I saw her less but we always had great visits when we'd be on the Island at the same time. She was a lovely and kind person and I am so sorry for all of her family and friends who loved her. She will be greatly missed.
My condolences.

I met Erin when we were involved in youth group in the 1970´s. Under the direction of Richard Frey we learned so many valuable skills with music, relationships with each other.. and most importantly our relationship with Our Lord and Savior.
I´m terribly sad to hear about her passing..
To know she is singing and dancing right now.. brings gladness to my heart and to many others.
Love to her family..

Erin was an incredibly special person in my life, and I cherish our time together. Erin was thoughtful, brilliant, giving, sincere, sharp, hilarious; a trusted colleague first and then, thankfully, a dear friend. Erin was both a shoulder to cry on and someone to laugh with, and she helped me in so many ways. Erin's devotion to Japanese culture enabled me to reconnect with my family's relationship to that great country, and our family has always been thankful for that - she was an enthusiastic steward for the great cultures of Japan. Erin was devoted to our international students at Ohio University, and she served them with great care and attention, patience and kindness. She was an early instigator of Molly and my relationship, and we are thankful for that every day. Erin's devotion to her family was above all her greatest pleasure and gift, and though we will all miss her dearly she has now been reunited with beloved Wesley at Heaven's Gate. While devastated by our loss I am thankful for that thought. Chris, Bailey, and family, please accept our condolences and assistance during this and all times. We will think of Erin every day, and we will be thankful for our memories.
