Randy, we are so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. We were all hoping he'd pull through but it was not to be. Our thoughts are with you.

Sorry, we just heard the very sad news about Uncle Sonny's passing. It seems we never had enough of his stories, and sadly most times we saw him it was at a family funeral, but his humor and charm will be very much missed.

Sonny Black, my mentor, teacher & freind. I was honered to have randy's dad help me rebuild a 1956 bristol boat in 1971.Many lessons of life came to me through sonny. We spent an entire summer at his home rebuilding & I learned more than most will ever know about truth ,kindness, patience, from this real deal one of a kind man. Hands of leather w/ a heart of pure gold ,he was. At the time I had yet to enter building homes(another one of sonnys exceptional qualities.I was just a simple cook @ good ole Joe Macks. Yet he looked beyond this & gave me a chance to learn some of the cherished secrets of cape cod.I spent every day & all the $ i could to get that boat right..ok Mark be truthfull.. some went to women & beer on cool summer nights. heck I was only 18..There is so much more I could say ...Randy & Kris You & I know alot of the passion on Cape Cod will not be the same without his presence. just know for sure that he and his will shall remain very strong for all of us. Truly, Mark J. Lyons & family.

I just found out, sorry to have missed the service. I also am sorry that I will not see him at the harbor any longer, with his great stories.

For over 35 years I considered Sonny a good fiend and fellow lobsterman. He always had time to give me a hand if I needed help. We had many conversations when a few of us gathered at the harbor to watch the sunset and plan our next day on the water. My deepest symphony to the family. He will always be remembered by those of us who knew him.

I will miss his humor and common sense. He spent time with my son lobstering just before he retired from the trade. He always had something to make you smile when you bumped into him at the Post Office. Tight lines and fair winds to you my friend. My deepest condolences to his family.
