BOECHLER - Ernest, born August 6, 1928 in Allan, SK, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. Ernie leaves to mourn his loving wife of 50 years, Lillian Boechler (nee Weninger) of Edmonton, AB; one daughter, Kathleen (Peter) Shkopich of Meadow Lake, SK; four sons, Douglas (Patricia) of England, David (Kelly) of Surrey, BC, Darrell (Deanna) of Medicine Hat, AB, Geoffrey (Diane) of Edmonton, AB; six grandsons, Jason, Ryan (Shannon), Jarred, Kirk, Keelin, Jordan; two granddaughters, Rikki, Kenna; one greatgranddaughter, Natalya; one step-greatgrandson, Tylan; two brothers, Leonard, Bill (Leola); four sisters, Eleanor (Dale) Humphries, Roma Ettles, Agnes (Horst) Engel, Eve Haakonsen; sister-in-law, Ag Boechler; brothers-in-law, Don Weninger, Roy Plotzke; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ida (nee Wald) Boechler; one brother, Leo; and three sisters, Veronica Usselman, Irene Weninger, Ann Plotzke. Ernie served with the RCMP for 22 years. He was stationed throughout BC and was in the musical ride for a couple of years. When he retired from the RCMP, he joined the Liquor Control Board in BC and Alberta. After Ernie retired from the Liquor Control Board, he and Lillian moved to Edmonton, AB where they now reside. Ernie was a member of the Knights of Columbus for most of his married life. Ernie and Lillian spent 20 years traveling in their RV visiting many family and friends along the way. Ernie was very much involved in his sons' sports when they were younger and spent a lot of time with his grandsons traveling from place to place with hockey, baseball and soccer. He spent the summers and falls at his daughter's place, on the farm, which he loved, especially harvest when he ran the combine. Ernie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. The Vigil for Ernie will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. from Park Funeral Chapel (311 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Spirit Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK) with Rev. Fr. Ken Beck, Celebrant. Rite of Committal of Ernest's cremated remains will take place in Allan Catholic Cemetery, Allan, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan (279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8). Condolences, on behalf of the family, are being accepted at [email protected]. Arrangements entrusted to David J. Schurr of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 244-2103.

Lillian & Family,

We are so sorry, but God loved him so much, he wrapped his arms around him and took him home. We are sorry that we were not at home when you called on us Sept 5, but we will always cherish the times we had together. We hope your memories will be your source of comfort and strength.
