I remember the boat we built in that garage. Actually two of them modelled on a Lightning hull. And took them all the way down the Rideau to Kingston. Also two other Sea Scouts, Mick Butler and Ian deBlois. We learned so much.

I mat Ernie at DND Headquarters to embark on the drive to DRCL at Shileys Bay. A few days later we were working in the same laboratory. I also enjoyed his companionship on Canoe trips. He found me for a Shirley's Bay Christmas Luncheon some years back. He was a strong and honest man. I regret my failure to visit more often in his final years. My condolences to his family. He will be missed. He was brave in his last years. Except for my last visit we could communicate and he was cognizant about his health, that was late last year. Knowing Erni was a good experience.

I have fond memories of Ernie in the context of property and sound activities at First Unitarian in Ottawa. I was also treated to his knowledge of cold fusion in the bowels of the MacDonald building at U of Ottawa. Ernie was a wonderful patient person who will be missed.

To the Criddle Family,

You have my condolences for the loss of Ernie in your lives. He was a wonderful man. He had a great sence of fun and adventure.

My parents Garnet and Molly as well as my brothers Brian and Les as well as myself Susan were very involved in the scouting movement.

As teenagers we enjoyed a lot of time in boats. Ernie enhanced our love of sailing and we spent many happy hours on the Ottawa river.

He gave us a lot of freedom and we also learned the responsibility that went with that freedom.

He will be missed.

Sincerely

Susan Woolsey and Family.

Being among the first residents in Lakeview Park and only one house separating ours, we were close neighbors, from the early 60s, onward. I could always rely on Ernie for assistance and among our various projects, we initiated the hockey rink and ice making in Lakeview Park that Ernie took over and continued for years. Ernie was a very generous and giving person. My condolences to Rosemary and family.

I will always remember our ten day trip up the Rideau river with the Sea Cadets and the 19 foot sail boat Erny built in my brother's back yard.

A wonderful man! What a joy to accompany him as he played his harmonica. Many happy memories of our times in Lakefield.
