Dear Julie:

I was very sorry to learn of your loss. Ernie was a wonderful colleague and I always respected his knowledge and advice. He was a true leader in his profession, and he brought great recognition and credit to Penn State and particularly to the College of Engineering.

I am sorry that we cannot be in State College to extend our sincere condolences at this time. We moved to Lancaster, PA, in May, but you may be sure that Ernie and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
