Ernst Wilhelm Karl Bruhnke

Ernst Wilhelm Karl Bruhnke, age 71, of Upper Deerfield Township, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 9, 2009, at his home. He had been in declining health for the past 5 years.

Born in Germany, he was the husband of the late Dina Kikas Bruhnke and had been an Upper Deerfield Township area resident most of his life.

Prior to his retirement in 2006, he had been employed with Ace Glass, Inc., in Vineland, for many years.

Mr. Bruhnke was a veteran having served with the United States Navy and was a member of the Bridgeton Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Kurt M. Bruhnke, of Ashburn, Va., and Lance J. Bruhnke, of Upper Deerfield Township; a daughter, Charity E. Davis, of Columbia, Md.; two brothers, Dieter Bruhnke, of Wisc., and George Bruhnke, of Upper Deerfield Township; and a grandson, Shaun C. Davis, of Maryland. He was predeceased by a son, Jason A. Bruhnke.

Private graveside funeral services will be held at the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, in Hopewell Township, where the interment will follow the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Mr. BruhnkeÕs memory be made to the Bridgeton Seventh Day Adventist Church, 36 Old Deerfield Pike, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Padgett Funeral Home, Upper Deerfield Township.
