Greece: On January 25, 2014. Son of the late Vinzenz and Anna Stadler. Predeceased by his son Ernst John Stadler. Survived by his beloved family: wife, Jolanda Stadler; son, Vincent Stadler (Pamela); grandchildren, Rachel Stadler, Vinzenz Stadler, Julie Mayeu (Mark), Anna Worthington-Philp (Adam) and three great-grand children; sister Albina Boeckman (Heinz) of Rochester; brother Karl Heinz Stadler (Hella) of Germany; his brother-in-law, Bernhard and sister-in-law Dawn Jackobs; cherished friends, Steve, Darlene, Joshua and Gabriella Farina; several God Children, Nieces and Nephews, and many good friends. He was a long-standing member of the German American Sports Club.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass to be announced and celebrated at a later date by special family friend, Father Simeon Gallagher, OFM CAP. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

I often find myself paying attention to my surroundings more frequently, being more observant of every quiet moment and those filled with so much noise. I was reminded recently to look for god in these moments, that he is always here if we would care to notice. In nature, a smile from a random stranger, in all things. It is here I often think of you, and the guidance you often gave me. peace in the small moments, moments where you can feel time stop and enjoy all the blessings god has given us.

Ernst was one of our favorite patients, but I will always remember him as our local butcher at Herrema's grocery. This was a job he loved and took pride in his skills. I had many conversations with Ernst while he was here with us, but I remember his last words to me most..."Life is special". His wife and son did such an amazing job taking care of him and making sure that his quality of life was of utmost importance. I feel privileged to have known the Stadler family and wish them peace during this difficult time.

I remember the first time I met Ernie. He was just coming out of surgery and I asked him his wife's name, and he replied Jo-laaaanda in such an expressive way...I couldn't help but laugh. Each time I saw him, that's what I thought of and it made me smile. He was such a special guy...I am glad I had the opportunity to care for him. My thoughts are with you Jolanda, and your family.

My life grew so much brighter after meeting Ernie! What a gentle soul and yet so strong! The life he lived was vibrant and he experienced so much. He truly LIVED. Ernie was a great friend going way back when he came to Rochester. We played soccer for the Sport Club and the four of us (Ernie, Tony, Alfred and I)used to hang out after the games.
So the memories remain, and I will never forget the good times we had together, on and off the field.
