Esther M Gorham

Esther Gorham went to her heavenly home on Thursday May 15th, 2025, at age 92, after a short stay in a care facility in Tustin, CA. She was born in Los Angeles in1932, the third of five siblings, to parents Adolph and Else Rogstad of Los Angeles.



Esther went to Methodist Hospital RN program (Los Angeles) and received her AA degree in nursing. She married Frank W. Gorham MD and moved to Orange County in the late 50s, where she lived in the foothills for the remainder of her life.



Esther was a faithful servant and member of Calvary Church, Santa Ana, CA for well over 50 years. She found much fulfillment in leading a 4-year old Sunday School class, where she taught faithfully for many decades.



She worked as an Operating Room nurse at Western Medical Center, Santa Ana, CA for 30 years. She enjoyed her family, traveling and camping in the Sierras, gardening, and telling children about the Good Shepherd, Jesus.



She is survived by five children: Peter Gorham (Amy), Honolulu, HI, James Gorham (Adriana), Vacaville, CA, Kirsten Tunnicliff (Tom), Waukesha, WI, Margit Stevens (Tom), Redding, CA, David Gorham (Maria), Norco, CA and 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, along with stepchildren. She is survived by her elder sister Lillian Johnston (Dr. Paul) of Seattle, and sister-in- law Diane Rogstad (Dr. David) of Monrovia. Preceded in death by her young son Michael, husband Frank, stepsons Bill and John Gorham, parents Adolph and Else, brothers Ken and David, brother-in-law Paul Johnston, sister-in-law Doris Rogstad, sister Evelyn, brother-in-law Dick Jones.



Services to be held Monday July 7th, 2025, 11AM at Calvary Church in Santa Ana, CA.
