Christopher Ranta

Christopher George Ranta Christopher Ranta, 42, of Novato, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2013. Chris was born in San Leandro on December 29th 1970, raised in Novato and graduated from San Marin High School. He went on to attend Cal State Sacramento, worked as a sales representative for his family's business and also sold advertising in Sonoma County. As a sports enthusiast and lover of the outdoors, Chris excelled at motocross racing from a very early age. Baseball was a favorite sport for Chris and he also enjoyed football and rooting for the 49ers. He was a big fan of quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Chris was well versed in Bible Scripture and devoted to his faith. Chris was always optimistic and ready for the many challenges he faced in life. "Tomorrow is another day" was a favorite quote of his. Chris will always be remembered for his generosity, charming personality and great sense of humor.
To know Chris, was to love him. Chris is survived by his loving mother Virginia Manatos, step-father Ken Pirnar, sister Lisa Dinsmore, brother-in-law Bob Dinsmore, nieces Brianna and Alexandra, nephew Jake, uncle Lyle Ranta, aunt Jean Ranta, great aunt Zara Kouris, great aunt Sylvia Johannessen and numerous cousins. Chris is preceded in death by his father Duane William Ranta and grandparents George and Athena Manatos and Bill and Vera Ranta. A Celebration Of Life will be held at The Quest in Novato on May 18th at 11:00 AM, 1461 S. Novato Blvd. Novato, CA 94948.
