Ethan Cole Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 9, 2024.
Ethan Wyatt Cole, 32, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on March 7, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on November 23, 1991, in Biloxi, MS.

He is survived by his mother, Roxanne Cole; father, Walter Cole; brother, Hunter Cole; and daughter, Riley Elizabeth.

Ethan was a gifted musician, an avid outdoorsman, and a beautiful and brilliant friend, brother, and son. He was also a loving, engaged, and present father to his daughter Riley (2 years old). Moreover, Ethan had admirably stepped up to help parent Riley's older sister Adalynn. Even when struggling he still desperately worked to be all these things. He pursued his relationships and interests with unmatched passion. Ethan moved to Atlanta in 2017 where he was loved by a wonderful community of friends and found solace enjoying the neighboring outdoors. He established himself as a successful realtor in the area and his magnetic charisma was evident in his work.

Many have asked us how they might help, so in lieu of flowers we ask you to please consider giving towards a fund established to provide some security for Riley's long-term needs. I have included a link to learn more about that here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/donate-to-help-riley-cole

We unfortunately still have many unanswered questions about Ethan's death. If you knew and loved Ethan you likely know that for much of the last decade Ethan fought bravely in his desire for mental wellness and to beat substance dependencies.

I would encourage anyone reading this to spend some time learning more about the opioid epidemic in America. The statistics are heartbreaking and it affects so many families of all walks of life. Someone suffering from addiction might not always look the way they do on tv. We have included resources below to learn how to best support or advocate for someone in your life who may need it.

Thanks to all those who have reached out and taken care of us. We appreciate you.

We are hosting two opportunities to remember Ethan both in the Atlanta area as well as on the Mississippi coast. Please see additional information below.

Ethan had a rare ability to make me laugh or smile anytime I was around him. Even when I was going through anything he was there to help and get me out of a funk and make me smile. From the first time I met him we both knew we would be close friends.

Being one of Ethan's roommates at the end, I'll always remember him by how incredibly happy he was whenever he had Riley over at the house. He loved her with all his heart and soul!

My heart breaks for her and his family! Ethan was incredibly smart, charismatic and kind. If he cared about you, you know he had your back no matter what.

I'll always appreciate and smile when I think about him trying to get me to believe one of the crazy conspiracy theories he heard or read about at the time.

I miss you brother! A lot of people down here are heartbroken that you're gone. But we'll see you again soon!

It still doesn´t seem real. I was so lucky to know you, even for a short time. I know you will continue to be the best dad, looking out for Riley through every step in life. Thank you for every kind word on my bad days, every piece of advice & wisdom you passed on to me & for trying your HARDEST to put my markers back in the correct order. Your patience with my OCD was quite impressive I can´t wait to talk and color with you again one day. I miss you and wish we could´ve taken Mac & Riley to the mountain like we planned. You fought with so much strengrh. We are all so proud of you and to have known you. Lots of love -Shelby

Growing up with Hunter, I spent many a sleepover at the Cole household and getting to know Ethan. He was such a unique and passionate and talented human being. I´ll never forget being blown away watching him master the electric guitar all on his own spending countless hours practicing in his bedroom. He loved and cherished life and all those close to him. My heart goes out to the family and his close friends. Ethan is with you always.

Ethan,
You were such a kind & caring young man from the day my son Nick introduced us. We loved having you at our home and I love that we shared a real estate office for a bit. You were so positive and determined to be one of the best realtors in Georgia, then You were so proud to be a daddy when your daughter was born!
Our hearts are broken & you are so missed. Rest In Peace with our Savior Ethan

You lit a room with your smile and made everyone feel welcome that you came into contact with. I remember you telling me the day you found out that you were having a baby girl, you were so happy! I know you loved Riley with your whole heart and soul.
I had the pleasure of helping Ethan with his Real Estate Career. He was always coming up with new ideas on how to build his business. An environment he thrived in! My sincere condolences to your family, friends and that sweet baby girl. You will be sadly missed my friend. Rest In Peace

First time I saw Ethan he was about 5 years old, sitting beside the wall while his mom was in her aerobics class. Roxanne and I became best friends, I remembered the first time he got into his first kayak. Such a little hellion in his own boat. Has so much energy, and would crash and burn half way down the creek. I would tie his kayak on to mine, and I paddle so many miles with him tied on to my boat. Leech Beach! I often imagine that you would pull me in my own kayak when I got old and tired myself. SYOTW a little buddy, love you, MS Tee
