Ethan “E” Jeffrey Whiting, loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend found peace on Monday August 22, 2022, at the young age of 20 after a long battle with depression.
Ethan had an amazingly brilliant mind. He was a beautiful artist and an avid lover of making and listening to music. He was always up for adventures, exploring the city, and spending time in nature. He had so much love for all of the people in his life, and that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his mother Ellen Whiting (Daniel Cook), father Jeffrey Whiting (Michelle Kavanagh), siblings Maddie, Isaac, Riley, Grayson, and Cora, step-siblings, Lucy, Gordy, Austin, and Addison, his grandmothers Joyce Albek and Julita Whiting, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the love of his life, Cierra. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Niels Albek and Ronald Whiting.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, September 2nd from 12-3p in the garden at the Bird Haven greenhouse and conservatory located at 225 N Gougar Rd, Joliet, IL. A butterfly release honoring Ethan will take place at 1:30p by his family. Please dress comfortably.
Please consider making donations in Ethan’s honor to https://elyssasmission.org .

In memory of Ethan, a cherished friend and classmate whose passion for art and music brought beauty and inspiration to our lives. Ethan's creativity knew no bounds, and his artistic talents illuminated the world around him. Whether he was lost in the strokes of a paintbrush or immersed in the melodies of his favorite songs, Ethan's artistic spirit shone brightly. His ability to capture emotions and express himself through his art and music was truly remarkable. We will forever remember the way his creations touched our hearts and stirred our souls. Ethan's artistic legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us. Rest in peace, dear Ethan, and may your artistic spirit forever dance among the stars.

I send my condolences to the Whiting family and all of those impacted. I had a few classes with Ethan in high school, and he was always a genuine friend and a pleasure to be around. May he rest in eternal peace <3
