Celebration of life will be held in Newark on Saturday for great-great-great-grandmother, 110 years old
Ethel Ida Terry Bethea, age 110, made her transition on Feb. 26, 2020.
Beloved daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Emma Terry, she was the loving mother of Shirley Hobbs and the late Beverly Wilson and Carl Walker; cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 43 great-great-grandchildren, four great-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Phillip Metropolitan CME Church, 27 Morris Ave., Newark. Visitation is on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Entombment to follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, N.J. Arrangements are by Whigham Funeral Home.

We knew Mom B very well for many years worshipping together with her family at Faith Temple New Hope Church in East Orange.

Gay Kulberda informed me of Ethel Bethea's passing. I was very sad to hear that. My husband and I used to pick Ethel up on Sunday morning for Church. We attended the United Methodist Church of Linden NJ. She was such a lovely person. Always dressed like a lady with her various hats.
She mentioned to us that she was a Methodist her whole life. Even though I had not seen her for sometime, I will always remember her with fondness.
