Gene was a respected member of the law enforcement community and a fellow Spartan but my favorite memory is from a Chicago Cubs game. I went with friends and happened to end up sitting near Gene and Clare. The wind direction changed to the north and was coming off Lake Michigan. It got cold fast. Clare was smart and had a blanket and we ended up huddled under it. A little thing I will never forget.

Clare and family, so very sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I know how hard this is having been there exactly 19 years ago on the same date I lost Tom. Healing prayers to all of you.
