Eugene Norman Carlier

Surprise - Eugene Norman Carlier, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23rd, 2025. Born on October 1st, 1932, in Fayetteville, Ohio, to Josephine and Eugene Carlier. Gene was a man whose faith never wavered, and his life was a testament to the values he held dear. He showed us the true meaning of family, the rewards of hard work, and the power of leading by example. His legacy is one of love, dedication, and inspiration, and he will forever remain in our hearts.

Gene served in the US Navy in the early 1950s and later graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in civil engineering.

In his later years, Gene found a sense of belonging in Surprise, Arizona, but his life's journey was a tapestry of growth. His formative years in Decatur, Illinois instilled in him a robust work ethic and a genuine love for life's simple pleasures. Gene's life was multifaceted; he was a devoted son, a steadfast friend, a loving husband, and an extraordinary father. His legacy is woven into the fabric of the lives he touched and the family he cherished with all his heart.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Eugene, his sister, Helen, his first wife, Marian, and his son, John. Gene leaves behind his wife, Noelle, his children Mike, Elizabeth (Fred), Joe (Cindy), and Susan, as well as John's wife, Anne-Marie. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary on Tuesday July 1st from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral mass to be held Wednesday July 2nd at 10:30am at the Franciscan Renewal Center located at 5802 E. Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85253. The burial will take place on July 9th in Tucson.
