EUGENE C. DINNOCENTI, 82, OF POTTSTOWN Eugene C. Dinnocenti, 82, of Pottstown, PA, formerly of Royersford, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his home. He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Helen (Hakun) Dinnocenti, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Born in Royersford, PA, he was a son of the late Nicola J. and Elizabeth (Kalil) Dinnocenti. Eugene was a 1950 graduate of Royersford High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving for 18 months in Japan during the Korean Conflict. After his military discharge, he returned to Royersford to join his father in his small construction company. Gene's work ethic and dedication contributed to the success of their construction company and in 1957, Twin County Construction Company was incorporated. He was later joined in the business by his brothers, Anthony and Ronald. Twin County Construction became one of the major commercial construction companies in the greater Philadelphia area. Their client list included projects for the Pillsbury Co., Diamond Glass, Bethlehem Steel, Cann and Saul Steel, Music Fair Inc. Eugene served on the PA State Republican Committee. He worked on several campaigns, including Drew Lewis for Governor and Richard Schweiker for Congress. Being community minded, he also served on the Spring Ford School Board and as a member on the advisory board of the Montgomery County Geriatric Center (Providence Parkhouse Pointe) for many years. He was a devoted member of St. Aloysius Church, Pottstown, PA; St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, L.B.I., NJ; and St. Paul of The Cross, North Palm Beach, FL. As an avid golfer, he was a member of Spring Ford Country Club since 1957, Old Marsh Golf Club, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, (Served on Board of Governors) and Hickory Valley Golf Club, Gilbertsville, PA, where he continued as an enthusiast partner/owner. His other passion was boating with his family, especially along the New Jersey Shore. With his sons, he participated and won many tournaments in NJ, MD and the Bahamas on their sports fishing boat "Sirena" Gene and Helen enjoyed traveling both in the U.S. and visited many countries throughout Europe and most recently a trip to China. He was well loved and respected within his personal and professional circles and will be remembered for his compassion, loyalty and keen sense of humor. `In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Gregory Allen Dinnocenti of Royersford, PA; one daughter, Donna Marie Dinnocenti McLaughlin, PhD of Chester Springs, PA; two grandchildren, Iris Helena McLaughlin of Chester Springs, PA, and Samuel Eugene McLaughlin of Chester Springs, PA, and one brother, Ronald A.
