Eugene E Ebbing

Eugene E. Ebbing, 59, of North Vernon passed away at 1:49 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at his residence.
Eugene graduated from Jennings County High School in 1972. He worked at Cummins Engine Co. for 13 years before co-founding Ebbing Auto Parts Inc. with his brother, John, in 1986.
He was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Four Corners. He was a generous donor to many local charities and organizations. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph's, Spencer Township Fire Department and North Vernon Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Born Nov. 4, 1953, in Columbus, he was the son of Richard and Mary Alice Bucci Ebbing. He married Elizabeth Cornett on Dec. 22, 1973. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by one son, Andrew (Stephanie) Ebbing, North Vernon; one daughter, Jennifer Ebbing, Indianapolis; two brothers, John (Rose) Ebbing, North Vernon, and Tony (Darlene) Ebbing, Osgood; four sisters, Cathy (James) Wardrop, Theresa Peacock and Rosemary (Tom) Hyde, all of North Vernon, and Anna Marie (Paul) Palazzolo, Detroit; and two granddaughters, Emily Jean and Allison Jo Ebbing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Proctor.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Four Corners, with the Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sawyer–Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, North Vernon. A rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County or St. Vincent DePaul.
