Carol and Sarah and Anna,
Needless to say, we were shocked at the news. I first knew Eugene Glaser when we were roommates in East Holmes Hall at MSU during our freshman and sophomore years in college. I know that he was a veteran. Fate, it is a funny thing. Gene and I (and others) were sitting in our dorm room watching it on TV the night he won the draft lottery. After graduating, he enlisted. That dramatically changed his future as he met the love of his life while stationed in Kansas. I know that he was a family man and loved greatly all those around him. We also both worked at Sparrow Health System for (too?) many years (you also, Carol); he in Nursing, myself in IT. While it cannot be said that we've remained close during the ensuing decades since our college days, it can definitely be said that my association with Gene influenced my life in ways too immeasurable to count (Pete/TanyaNate Lakecoed softballmy wife Susankidsgrandkidsyada, yada, yada). Once again, fate is a funny thing. I look forward to thanking him at some future time, place, or life. It's hard when a loved one passes. The hurt never goes away but time helps. Focus on those still around you. Our sincerest condolences go out to you, Carol and Sarah and Anna, and all those who know him.
