God called them home too early, but he called them together. They are in the presence of our Lord. Where you will be able to see them again someday. It's all in God's plan....."Even so Jesus, come quickly".

It was truly an honor to have known Pearl and Gino through the years and the many great, great times we had at Sarti's and at their residence for parties and events. The circle of friends we have has grown stronger knowing that it is now up to us to carry on the legacy that Pearl and Gino have left us. I feel truly blessed that I had the opportunity to sing "Home" at the celebration of life that January 22nd afternoon for they are now at HOME in God's residence. God bless the Macala family.

We remember you. We think of you often. And now, we miss you more everyday. We knew how great music was such a part of my dad's life. When you came into our lives, music was even greater. It was also fun to watch you uncle Eugene, play music and sing along with dad. It was also nice to see aunty Perlita sing a little and spend time catching up with mom. Perhaps you are playing music and singing with dad now. Mahalo for the memories aunty and uncle. You will both be missed.

I, too, worked with Gino at Nicolino's as drummer for Angelo Butera in the Italian Show. This is where I met Gino & Pearl and their son Don, who is an accomplished musician in Las Vegas. Gino kept hounding me to move to Vegas and I finally did in 2003. We were in contact all the time as we went out many times to hear bands and see Don play. His wit and craziness continued here as our friendship grew! We had planned to see our favorite band, Santa Fe, this past Monday but he and Pearl chose a new and continuous life in heaven. You are greatly missed, thank you for all the joy & love you gave. Your memory will last a life time!

Iv'e known Eugene and Perlita since I was 9 years old as we were next door neighbors in Waipahu. Eugene and Pearl were very musical and they had a band that would practice in the open air style garages. I was taking piano lessons when I was about 14 years and one day while I was watching them practice, with their son Danilo on the drums Eugene asked me if i wanted to sit in on the keyboards. I was shy but Eugene made me do it anyway. I had so much fun and soon after that I was going on gigs with them. Eugene was the one who made music fun for me and he got me to take music seriously and to this day I still have that kind of love for music just as much as he did. I have many, many memories of Eugene, Pearl and the entire Macala family and how Eugene and Pearl had a big influence on my life. My most heartfelt condolences to their family and hope that they will find strength in the days ahead. Rest in Peace my dear friends. GOD bless!!

Tito Gino and Manang Pearl are actually friends with my parents but my friends and I love to party with them at Sarti's and at their house in San Jose. They have the best parties. I worked with tito Gino for a couple years at Nicolinos and I thought he is one of the coolest dude ever. Tito Gino and Manang Pearl, can't wait to rock with you guys on Sunday for the last time. RIP tito Gino and Manang Pearl, you guys will be missed but I will see you guys later!

I have many fond memories of Gino at Nicolino's, especially the way he could time the flambe on the cafe diavolo to the high notes in the opera arias! And Pearl was a formidable Ma Jong opponent after the the show. You will both be missed, but heaven is all the richer to have the two of you as new residents! My love to the family in their loss.

Condolences to the Macala Ohana. I met Pearl for only a moment of her time at the Doubletree, but she was a beautiful lady, who helped me feel at home at a new job. She lived Aloha in just being herself and we loved her for it. May their love continue in heaven and in the hearts of those who continue love them.

My only happiness lies with knowing the both of you are together in Heaven. You were taken from us so quickly and far too soon. Our world was a better place with you in it. I treasure all the memories and the gut-busting laughs we shared. Rest peacefully, my sweet friends. Until we meet again...
