This one hurts. Mercury was a valuable contributor on the field, and in many aspects of life. A member of the "perfect team," and "perfect backfield." A gentleman who overcame some extreme challenges, and who expended much time and energy helping others. Remarkably bright, articulate, altruistic, funny, delightful, and wonderful. And yes, the quintessential elusive and speedy halfback.
