Eugene Quillin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2015.
Eugene Richard Quillin was born to the late Susie Quillin on August 1, 1926 in Oklahoma. He was adopted by his late step-father Hervy Quillin.

Mr. Quillin was a traveling man and had lived in many different places over the years of his life. He settled in Dunlap, California for 13 years until he got very ill where he had to move to Fresno to be closer to see his doctor regularly from his
illness with a care provider whom cared for him for 5 years until he departed this life on May 28, 2015.

Eugene was his name but everyone knew him as "Bear". Bear was a man who spoke his mind regardless. You can hate him or love him but Bear stayed the same and he did not care if you liked him or not like him that's just Bear. But one thing about Bear, he was a giving person from the heart and he would help you no matter what the situation might be and some of his family members may only remember the bad things about Bear growing up over his years of his life. Bear was a change man who just cared about his family and loved them whether they knew it or not but he always would talk about the good things that he could remember of his family. The only thing that Bear wanted most before he depart from this earth from his family his forgiveness to them while he was alive.

Mr. Quillin was a World War II Military Veteran that was disrespected by the government and this is why he was the way he was toward everybody no matter who they were including his own family. Mr. Quillin has suffered in silence for many years of pain and suffer that he had to carry and endure this load as a World War II Military Veteran that was never appreciated as a soldier plus another soldier whom both of them seen eye combat to combat on the battlefield and they was the only 2 that lived to tell the story after seeing his fellow soldiers died all around him. There was no one who met Mr. Quillin who did not come to love him. Most of all to listen to his life stories of his life plus other peoples life that he knew and associated with during his life time.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons- Ernie Quillin [of Caruthers, California], Eugene Quillin [of Oregon]; three daughters - Liz Carson[of Missouri], Betty Johnston [of Missouri], Beverly Williams [of Missouri]; three sisters- Neva Forrest [of Pinegrove, California], Barbara Souders [of North Fork, California], Cathy Martin [of Fresno, California]; three brothers - LB. Sloan [of Fresno,California], Edward Quillin [of Clovis, California], John Quillin [of Fresno, California]; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at Fresno Memorial Gardens at 1:30pm
