Among the keepsakes I found in my mother's cedar chest were an apron Gene helped me buy as a Christmas gift for my Mom. There was also a homemade Valentine to "Dear Auntie," signed "Love, Eugene." He was 7 when he gave it to her. Gene was very talented and a very special guy.

We have lost a very good friend and will miss his quick wit and his appetite for all challenges that came his way. We send our condolence to Lorraine and her family. We hope Gene will rest in peace.
