EUNICE MARIE DALE

Eunice Marie Dale formerly of Arlington Heights Visitation for Eunice Marie Dale will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Born April 13, 1918, in Marshall, Minn., to Peter and Gertrude (nee Cherp) Juba, she died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg, Ill. She married Victor William Dale on Oct. 14, 1940, in Marshall, Minn. Mrs. Dale was a newspaper reporter in Minnesota in her early years and then worked at an insurance company in Chicago during World War II, while her husband served in the Navy. She returned to the workforce after raising her family as an employee of Sears Roebuck, Inc. at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, working until she was in her 70s. Eunice was an active member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights for over 55 years. She was a member of the St. James Women's Guild and was named the "Woman of the Year." She was known for her excellent baking skills and it was one of her greatest joys to bake for her family and her church family. Eunice is survived by her children, Andy (Nancy) Dale of Winston-Salem, N.C., Larry (Judy) Dale of Petersburg, Ill., Ken (Freida) Dale of Oakridge, Tenn., Jan (Bud) Swain of Cary, Ill. and Carrie Dale of Charleston, Ill.; her grandchildren, Brian, Mark, Nels, Laura and Eric Dale, and Victor and Steve Hardenbrook; and her great-grandchildren, Vincent, Bekkah and Avery Hardenbrook; her brother, Lambert "Buck" Juba of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and her sister, Ronnie (Louie) Van Hee of San Diego, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. James Women's Club, 820 N.
