Eva is survived by her children, son Loren V. Kerns Jr. and wife Tempest of Farmington, daughter Francis Joyce Babbin, daughter Carrie Lee DelaCruz, son Kevin (Trapper) Kerns, daughter Annie Kay Kerns, all of Lumberport; brother Raymond Bragg and wife Mary of Beachwood, NJ; sister Glenna L. Hall of Lumberport; Grandchildren Joshua Garrett (Kerns), Vanessa Kerns, Jesse L Delacruz (Tiffini), Markie W. Babbin, Alta Kerns, Sarah R. DelaCruz (Thomas), Amanda D. Cagle (Zach), Matthew A. Cagle, Anna M. Yeager (Dylan); and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her twin sister Evie M. Kline; sisters Mary Bragg, Freda Bragg, Leatric Bragg, Elizabeth Haught; and brothers Herman and Henry Bragg.
Eva graduated Wallace High School in 1952. She worked at Lydie Clark Nursing Home in Clarksburg as a PCA for five years, then at UHC as a PCA for nineteen years. She was a devoted wife and mother who raised five children, took care of a garden, and multiple farm animals. She loved to spend time with her family, read, work puzzles, and travel. Eva had a heart of gold and would do anything to help people in need.
Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 26 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
