Charlita Wills Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 27, 2012.
Sister Charlita Wills
Evansville, Ind.
Sister Charlita Wills (Mary Fabiola), born on May 31, 1920, in Sunset, Louisiana, was one of 13 children of Charles and Caroline (Richard) Wills. After completing her secondary education at Sunset High and receiving a commercial certificate from the College of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, she entered the Daughters of Charity in 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri.
After her initial formation, Sister Charlita was sent to teach at St. Patrick High School in Chicago, Illinois, and then served as a teacher for nursery/pre-school in Evansville, Indiana, New Orleans, Louisiana and Chicago, Illinois. In 1969, with the establishment of the East Central Province, Sister served as the Dietary Supervisor for the Provincial House both in Chicago and Evansville. For a brief period in 1977, she served as a parish minister in Charleston, Mississippi, and then returned to Mater Dei Residence in Evansville to resume her duties as Dietary Supervisor until she retired in June, 2000. Her love of fishing and cooking brought joy to many during those years. She moved to Seton Residence and began her ministry of prayer in August, 2002, until she died peacefully on May 25, 2012.
Visitation and funeral were held Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Seton Residence, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Sister is survived by many nieces and nephews and her Sisters in community.
Donations may be made to the Daughters of Charity, 4330 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO 63108.

Sister Charlita is my great Aunt "Honeybunch". Leota Wills Fortun, her sister, was my maternal Grandmother. I'll always remember her kindness, her energy and her love of cooking, crafts, fishing and her dogs. Seeing her smile in the picture posted brings me happiness and fond memories. Love you always Honeybunch!

Sister Charlita is my great aunt and known to me as Aunt Tee. She is my grandmother's sister. She was always such a lively lady and had such a wonderful sense of humor. She will be missed by all of us.

A special person in my life, my children my mother and father. She and Sr. Agnes Hart assisted Father Freeman in the last rites for my father, George Rosenkranz.
