Mr. Fred and Miss Eva were our next door neighbors, too. My mother was the "other Dorothy Sanders" or, better, "Dorothy Percy." I have happy memories of a big family, expertly managed by Eva and Alice, growing up and contributing greatly to Stephens and the larger world. I am sorry I am not able to be at the service to express my sympathy in person.

Dear Cousins
I was so sorry to hear Aunt Eva had passed on to her heavenly home. I, too, have many fond memories of all of us going to Mom's on Sunday afternoon and visiting you guys in the summer. Aunt Eva was definitely and inspiration to all of us. I remember as a young high school student hearing that she was going back to college and get her masters. I was amazed at all she had to do that she was also going to school. I am a teacher also but I won't be following in her steps and teaching until I'm in my 80's. I did admire her for undertaking this challenge, though. I'm sorry I won't be able to come to the memorial service. You all are in my prayers.
Lots of Love

Dear cousins,
I was so saddened to hear of Aunt Eva's passing. She was truly an inspiration to all of us. I'm so glad David and I had an opportunity to visit with her recently, on a good day. She shared memories of the past and we enjoyed the trip down memory lane with her. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the memorial service tomorrow but my thoughts and prayers will be with you all.
Love,

I first met your mom when I visited my mom, Dorothy Sanders, her next door neighbor. My mother said to me today," she was the best neighbor I ever had." That being said, it was an awkward relationship, your Mom was an intellectual thinker who walked to the beat of her own drum. My mom was , and is, highly intelligent, but not with a formal education. Yet, they found a bond that made them "best friends". That is about the best that this world offers to two intelligent humans. I am so glad that I got to know your mother through my mother. She left you with a great inheritance....dignity, an inquisitive nature and dependence on no one but yourselves. What a joy! She made a difference in this tiny world of ours. That is what great teachers do!
Best to all of you,
