Eva Mae Sterling, age 98, of St. Augustine passed away March 19, 2015, at Bailey Family Center for Caring. She was born in Cody, Ky. She was a nurses' aide for 28 years at Flagler Hospital, a faithful member of Ancient City Baptist Church for 60 years and a member of the Dogwood Circle of the St. Augustine Garden Club.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, Rev. Dr. David Rice, officiating.
She is survived by her daughter Betty Sterling Ray; brother Charles "Chuck" Sterling (Carol) both of St. Augustine; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dear Betty, Chuck and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Eva's homegoing. We all loved Aunt Eva and will always remember her smile and how she welcomed us into her home each time we visited. Dear Chuck and Betty,
How sorry I am to hear about Aunt Eva's passing. So many remembrances flood my memories of family gatherings, her laughter, her gentleness. She carried herself with a presence unlike anyone else in the family. Last year, Cecilia and I got lost driving back from NC to OH and found ourselves near Ashland. So we searched for and found your house. We laughed at the stories and very fond memories of the time Cecilia spent there and of our times together. I hope your memories of and love for Aunt Eva carry you all through this time of loss.

Aunt Eva was an amazing women. My favorite memories include her broad, genuine smile and sweet, loving disposition. She was such a joy to visit with at family gatherings. I'll miss Aunt Eva.
