Did Evan have a brother that lived in Edmonton Alberta in the early seventies that had a band that was named The Key?

Dear Larry, Carolyn, Natalie and Garber Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your terrible loss. This is so tragic and illustrates that every moment we have with our families and loved ones on this Earth is so precious. I never met Evan, but I feel the love of his strong spirit through the beautiful comments written by his friends and family. He was a true disciple of God, and a loving example of a true peacemaker. His life is a guiding light for us all.

My dear Evan. Remember my first night of ice skating AND outside of all places, We then went inside to curl, but my hands were so cold. You immediately took my gloves off and began to rub my hands and blow on them. Guess what!? I was then able to play Curling. What a weird but fun game. You were always so caring and fun to be around. Although, I have not seen you since you came to visit in 1973 in Bloomington, We had so much fun with you, Linda and the boys. I will miss you greatly; You always had a way of understanding what others were trying to say. Hopefully I will see you again one day and we can talk about old times.

Thank you for inviting Mennonite Central Committee to be present at Evan's memorial service.
It was gratifying to hear from Evan's pastor, Ken Peters, that Evan modelled many of the qualities that MCC advocates such as support for the marginalized and poor around the world.
It was my honour to meet his brothers and sisters and to hear about his life and contribution to the ministry of Killarney Park MB Church from those who paid tribute.
Evan's faith in Jesus Christ is a ongoing comfort for all who knew him.
Evan had many friends in the community as was evidenced by the employees and patrons who attended from the Noodle house where he was killed. Some of them wanted to pay tribute to him. I hope they did so privately to the family.
May God's peace through Jesus Christ and the memory of Evan's life of service be a source of comfort in the days ahead to all who are mourning.

Dear Larry, Elaine, Carl, Allan, Alvin, Susan, Marilyn, Janet, David,
We are thinking of you and praying for you often during this hard time. Evan was just like I remember all the Garber's being--trying to help anyone whenever they need help. I wish we were not so far away, so we could be with you. Alvin, Thank you for making the arrangements so my parents could be there.
Our prayers will continue to be with you as you try to sort out all of this. I am so thankful we have God to look to for our strength. We love all of you.

Hello to the Garber Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this tragic time. We would have loved to have been there with you in person. We are watching again "The Kanagy Saga" "Our Hostetler Ancestors" which Evan so expertly put together with his videography skills. Now it means even more to us. God Bless all of you as you are together during this time.

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

My wife, Melanie, and I offer our deepest condolences and prayers to Evan's family. We are good friends of Larry and Carolyn Garber who have spoken fondly to us many times about Larry's family. He loves dearly his brothers and sisters. This is a tragic time for all and may God's blessing continue to comfort each of you. And may the memories you have of Evan be a source of joy for you forever.

Elaine, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.
You must have so many wonderful memories of Evan, unfortunate for me that I didn't meet him, as it seems he must have been a great, loyal friend.
See you when you get home to Alberta.
