I had Evan as a student when I was teaching spanish at the prep. It was Evan´s first year there and my last, I was was destined to continue my teacher career at a public school. I was lucky to cross paths with Evan. He was a hardworking and able young man who I was lucky to have I my class. He spoke from the heart and was well liked by all. What a tragedy to become aware of his passing now.

Evan, you are and will be in my prayers continually. May god bless and keep you man.

Mark, I am so very sorry and stunned to hear of the passing of your son. We had talked about him once at lunch and I could tell you were indeed very proud of him. But it was a father's pride that you had and not a boastful one, yet you certainly had a lot to boast about.
I can only offer words of comfort that I'm sure you know many people thought very highly of him and of his parents who did such a fine job of raising him.
May his memory be eternal and may God bless you and your family and help you find strength in this difficult time.

Mark and Carolyn,
Pam and I are so sorry for the loss your son Evan. There is nothing worse than losing one of our children. We know the loss you are feeling is so deep. We pray for your healing and that you will find God's peace. It will take time, but be sure that there is hope that the extreme pain that you have will lessen in time as you heal.
You will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew Evan at St. John's Prep. He was in the year above me and I remember meeting him in a club after school. He was an amazing student and someone to look up to. He was an inspiration and a leader. Evan spoke his mind and always led the discussions. I enjoyed the time I spent with him and will remember him fondly for the rest of my life. God Bless you, Evan. Rest in peace.

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I express my deepest condolences for the passing of Lynnfield resident and US Navy Ensign Evan Scollard. Evans life was cut short way too soon. May God comfort his family, friends and fellow sailors during this sad and tragic time. Thank you Evan for your service to our country and our freedom. Fair winds and following seas. Your watch stands relieved. Rest in Peace Ensign Scollard. God bless you.

ENS Scollard was a great Officer, individual, and friend. Once onboard the Boxer, all sailors within his parent Department and piers in the Officer's Mess noticed his positive attitude which lead to a desire to be around him. I was in disbelief hearing we've lost one of our sailors/family members upon returning to work from vacation, because he was such a healthy individual, but young as well. He will be truly missed by everyone who had the honor to share a conversation and share a room with. GOD Bless you all!

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always!

My condolences for your loss. I had the privilege of studying abroad with Evan at St Andrews and he was one of the first people I met--we had been on the group flight together and immediately bonded over both being from the Boston area as well as sharing stories and thoughts during the connect flights. Evan had a way of making someone feel so welcomed and comfortable from the very first second of meeting him. I will always look back at my memories of abroad, the traveling, and the camaraderie Evan and I shared, fondly.

What a tragedy for Evan's family, our community, and the world. Evan was an exceptional young man whom I had as a student at the Middle School ten years ago. He was delightful, engaging, and irrepressible. He then went on to the Prep, a school that he truly loved. Obviously he had a stunning career at Trinity too. Evan left sunshine and moonbeams wherever he went. Hugs to his loving siblings Emily, Hannah, and Alex. I know that Evan's spirit will remain with you and guide you for the rest of your life

"Mark and family; May God's grace comfort you during your darkest moments now and forever. I had the pleasure of meeting Evan, with Mark's assistance, in San Diego. He was gracious to give me an unforgettable tour of his ship. What a brilliant and outstanding young man and Naval Officer! While his passing is a terrible loss to family, friends and our Country, I trust that God has a special assignment in store for Evan during his Millennial Reign and throughout eternity."

Though I cant say I knew Evan well, I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. We were part of the same research team at Trinity, and I had always liked him. I will remember his humor, charisma, and easy sociability. I think it says a lot about Evans character that even acquaintances held him in high esteem. Im very sorry for your loss.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Evan. I had the pleasure of meeting him at Trinity, through my daughter, Kathryn, and I quickly became an admirer. Although our acquaintance was brief, I will always remember the amazing young man who sat with me on Timothy's couch, with his arm linked through mine, whispering comments no one else heard that had me in stitches. It was my birthday and he insisted that I accompany them to the Tap. It was an experience I will never forget. Rest In Peace, dear Evan. You will be missed. With much affection,

Mark Carolyn Emily and Hannah...There are no words to fill the void left behind by Evan's loss far too early. He was exceptional in so many ways and an example of what is possible to achieve in this world. He has accomplished more and inspired more people than most do in a lifetime. His loss is felt by so many, and we hope you all can take some comfort in knowing he made the most of every moment and was a true gift to so many. He will be held in our hearts forever. Love always, Aunt Karen, Uncle Peter, Chris, Kelly, Kelly and Tori.

Carolyn, Mark, Emily, Hannah, family and friends,

Evan was truly one of a kind. He was an incredible son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend. He was a young man who brightened every room he walked into with his friendliness and wit. He loved life and living it to the fullest. He clearly embodied the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

Evan, I feel truly blessed and honored to grow up with you. You're truly one of the best people I ever knew, and will be true loss for the world. I know that you'll never be forgotten by your family and friends. Rest easy, bud.

With Love and Prayers,

Dear Carolyn, Mark, Emily and Hannah, We are of course devastated and in shock. Evan was so full of life and his curiosity was infectious and charming. I remember a particularly enjoyable day I had with him at the MFA because he was interested to learn more about art. We looked together and then discussed it and all manner of things over lunch. It was a great day.
I am in Hong Kong and it is impossible to change my flight . I will miss the funeral, but I will be thinking of all of you as I have been since I heard. My heart aches for you, and for us; because we will miss him too.
Love,
Meryl

I had Evan in middle school and he was one of the brightest and funniest students I have known. It did not surprise me when I learned he had published his book. Evan was gifted with wit, compassion, loyalty and brought so much joy to so many . I will never forget this gifted young man.
