Evan Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 27, 2022.
The family of Evan Thomas Williams is saddened to announce his unexpected passing Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the age of 47 years.

Evan was born on March 12, 1975 to Betsy and Walter Williams in Washington, DC. He was raised in Gambrills, Maryland. He attended high school at Queen Anne School in Upper Marlboro. Evan went on to study business management at Wingate University in North Carolina. Moving down the coast to attend Wingate began a life-long trend. During his years in North Carolina, he fell in love with the culture, mindset, people and places. He also fell in love with his wife Kelly at Wingate, and they were married not long after graduation in 1999. Although Kelly was coincidentally also from the Annapolis Maryland area, the two never returned, forging ahead even further south, with a shared love of family and adventure, theirs grew to a family of six. Kelly and Evan were married for twenty two years. They were a perfect team, together they enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, especially with their four children.

Evan was in the restaurant business and his success as an Operations Manager and General Manager began in Winston Salem, NC. Management opportunities in the restaurant business moved the family to Southaven, MS, and finally to Ocean Springs, MS.

Evan and Kelly's four children are Tristan, Sophia, Charlie and Mason. Evan considered being a father his biggest accomplishment. He was so proud of his children and loved them with all he had. If you knew Evan, you knew about his abundant pride in his children, as he enjoyed sharing updates on what was happening with them. He taught them to work hard, do all things with great love, and to take care of each other.

Evan loved the water in any form: ocean, bay, lake, river or stream. At his family's lake house in Virginia, you would find him skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, or just taking a ride on the boat. Evan loved living on the coast, and the Gulf brought him so much peace. Family beach days were common, as well as watching sunsets from his beach chair with Kelly and the kids. He carried a fishing pole and tackle box in his car so he could stop and fish whenever he wanted.

If Evan wasn't near the water, he was in the kitchen with Kelly and the kids creating amazing dishes to enjoy with his family and friends. Many lasting memories were shared in the kitchen and around the dinner table. Evan will be remembered most for his love of family, the friendships he fostered, and the stories he left us all to cherish.

In addition to his wife Kelly and the children Tristan, Sophia, Charlie, and Mason, Evan is survived by his parents Betsy and Walter, sister Sarah Moore, her husband Jake, and nieces Katie and Allie.

A Celebration of Life for all family and friends is being planned for June. Details to follow.
