This saddens me. I met Evan several times over the course of 5 years when his girlfriend , Jasmine, & him had us over for dinner at their apartment . He was always happy & kind.
Thank you Evan for the wonderful stories about Iraq & your time at Hustler magazine . All of your masterpieces will live on.
I´ll always remember that day we all took our motorcycles up the coast & those words of wisdom you shared. Here´s a photo of you & Jasmine I found.

I'm only a fan Evan's work, but I must have read and listened to American Desperado cover to cover at least eight or nine times. I'm devastated to hear of his passing, but the brilliance of his darkness continues to illuminate the human condition and the Zeitgeist of the late nineties and early two thousand. I believe that Evan is one of the most underrated and undiscovered journalists of his time. He continues to influence everyone from Gonzo to gangster fans, and helps connect those live on the fringe.
