I read about Evan last year and saved his picture. I recently looked up to see if there were any updates about this tragedy. What a beautiful person, his love for his cat and his hobbies. So so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine a year later your pain has subsided. Please know people, strangers like me really do care and still think about him. All the best to your family. I don't know you or your family, but I was heartsick to read of your son's passing in today's Post-Gazette. We are very familiar with West A as a family member was a teacher in the elementary school. All I can do is lift up your family in prayer, asking God to give you the strength you need at this terribly difficult time and in the days to come.

While I do not know you, I read about your dear child's death and I am heartbroken. This loss -- and the reasons behind it -- are an absolute and utter tragedy. I did not know Evan or your family. I just read of this tragedy in the newspaper as I was away on vacation and just returned home. I am sitting here with tears running down my face after seeing Evan's picture of him holding his cat. It reminds me so much of my grandson who is almost 11 years old and also loves his cat. Just wanted to let you know complete strangers are mourning your loss and praying for your family.
