Evelyn Belle Brooks

Evelyn Belle Brooks of Holland OH, formerly of Luckey, OH passed away Monday, November 7th with her devoted husband by her side. She was born August 28, 1928 in Monroe Michigan to Cleatus and Joseph Plumb.

She attended Monroe High school and on October 5th, 1946 married Edmund J Brooks of Monroe Mi. This October they celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary with their children. Evelyn worked through the years for A&P food stores as a cashier. In fact, that is where she caught my fathers eye and their love story began. Evelyn and Edmund successfully raised seven children and in retirement were able to enjoy many years of RV travel all over the United States. Oh, the stories that remain!

She is survived by husband Edmund and six children, Suzanne (Dean)Flightner of Toledo OH, Bonnie Brooks of Holland, OH, Tim (Chris) Brooks of Toledo, OH, Paula (Scott) McNay of Luckey, OH, Vickie (Doug) Palmer Of Wauseon, OH and Eddy Brooks of Bowling Green, OH, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by parents Cleatus and Joseph Plumb, sister Jean Poupard, son Jeffrey Brooks and grandson Nicholas Flightner.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo, OH, Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, on Monday, November 14th at 11:00 am.
