Evelyn de Mille

Evelyn will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity and inspiration. We loved Aunty Ed-Ed.She shared the pleasure of attending the Bob Edwards luncheon with my Mom annually. We were overjoyed to see her Sept. 7th 2013,at Marion's Memorial. She drove there herself, and looked so lovely and dignified. May she Rest in Peace.

Evelyn was a strong and determined woman. She lived life fully, and was an inspiration to all of us at DeMille Books. We fondly remember Evelyn's caring advice, words of wisdom.... and occasional scoldings. Evelyn we feel your presence here every day.

Will always remember our wonderful trip to New York for our Orser family reunion. Will miss our frequent phone calls. Very much missed and loved.

I met Evelyn De Mille in her book shop in Edmonton. She went out of her way to obtain a copy of Beatrice Harraden's Ships that Pass in the Night. It came from New York. She also had bookmarks that were erasable from pencil on the back, one of which I still have and I have never seen anything as good since. I have lived in the UK since 1968 but I never forgot her help. A rare, inspiring and wonderful bookseller.

Evelyn was a much loved member if our family. My grandparents lived next to her for many years and we next. We viewed her as a part of our family. She loved and treated my children like they were her own grandchildren. She was a wonderful , brilliant woman . We will miss her more than words can say.

Evelyn was my 'little' sister. She will be sadly missed. Love...
