Woodlake - Evelyn Marie Grist Meldrum, aged 72, passed away on September 20, 2024, in Fresno, California. Born in Visalia on November 16, 1951, Evelyn spent her youth in Taurusa, California and graduated from Redwood High School in 1969. She was a beacon of strength and loyalty, cherished by her family and all who knew her including all of her fur babies.

Evelyn's life was marked by her unwavering strength and resilience, qualities that defined her as a fighter. Evelyn's culinary skills were a source of joy and comfort to her family, especially her grandchildren creating lasting memories in the kitchen. Evelyn's hobbies included gardening, where she found peace and contentment in the growth and beauty of her surroundings, and of course, cheering for her beloved Raiders.

Evelyn spent 53 wonderful years married to her best friend, Max, who survives her.

She was the cherished mother of Matthew Meldrum and Wendy Meldrum, and mother-in-law to Bevin Meldrum. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Connor Meldrum and wife Kayleigh, Marco Provencio, Taylor Meldrum, Zakary Huston and Morgan Huston.

She is also survived by her siblings Ronnie Grist (Stacey), Retha Scott, Lynn Grist (Donna), Lyle Grist, Doris Hildreth, and sister-in-law Heidi Grist, along with Janice Erwin (Steve) and Bruce Grist (Danielle). Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Isabel Grist, and brothers John Robert Grist and James Grist.

A memorial service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at Cottonwood Barn, 19909 Ave 376, Woodlake, California at 1pm on November 16, 2024. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Evelyn's memory, supporting the fight against the disease with the same tenacity Evelyn lived her life.
