Evelyn Jean Yansky Bell Myers

Evelyn Jean Yansky Bell Myers, age 87, of Terre Haute, passed away Feb. 8, 2010, in Marshall, Ill. Born July 30, 1922, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Louis Rudolph Yansky Sr. and Lida Mae (Henry) Yansky.Evelyn graduated from Wiley High School in 1939, and received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Indiana State University. She taught in the Vigo County Public Schools and later at the I.S.U. Laboratory School. She developed the ISU first Supervisors Learning Center and supervised student teachers throughout the state as an associate professor until her retirement in 1986.Survivors include a son, Frank D. Bell; a daughter-in-law, Susan Sharp; a grandson, Joshua David Bell; a sister, Mary Alice Purcell; three nieces, Susan Harris, Marianne Jarard and Barbara McGuire; and four nephews, Philip Purcell, Gary Purcell, Timothy Purcell and Louis Yansky III. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Frank D. Bell; second husband, Robert Myers; four siblings, Viola Yansky, Edith Frank, Francesca Kruzan and Louis Yansky Jr.; and a nephew, Hubert Kruzan.A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
