Evelyn Shifflett

Evelyn Shifflett (nee Martin) Feb 08, 1936 - Feb 17, 2014 It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Shifflett announces her peaceful passing at the Wainwright Hospital after a 4 year battle with cancer at the age of 78.

Evelyn will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Frank, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage, her four daughters and families; Janet (Ron) Slater, Linda (Darren) Cromwell, Christine (Terry) Larson and Joan Shifflett; her grandchildren Shayne Perkins, Corey Slater, Mandy French, Stephanie Babcock, Darien Cromwell, Quintin Larson, Casey Larson, Nicole Larson; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her siblings Ernie (Ethel) Martin, Elsie Baik and Jack Martin.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Annie Emerentia (Szendrei) & Henry Martin, brother Vern Martin and grandson Nathaniel Babcock and nephew Murray Baik.

Evelyn, who was born in Edgerton, Alberta and lived throughout her life in Wainwright, will be remembered for her kind heart, quick "off the wall" humour, baking, crafts and hard work. Evelyn and Frank ran a successful plumbing business until their retirement in 1989. When not working Evelyn enjoyed travelling with Frank to exotic locations, spending winters in Yuma or travelling down the road in the motor home. No time wasted was Evelyn's motto.

Evelyn's spirit will live forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at Creech's Funeral Home in Wainwright, Alberta on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
