Dearest Kelley,
You
I am so sorry for your loss and I know this is a great loss. Mom loved you beyond words. I remember how you spoke of her and it always made me smile. You two have a bond that know one else had. She will always be with you watching over you. You took such good care of her and she was so grateful. Know that I will always be there for you and you always have a home in NYC.

Love always
Rosanne

Evelyn Margaret was generous with her time and patience. Visiting Houston in 1977, she asked if I wanted to go to an Astros afternoon game. Sure, I'd never been to a pro-game before. We went with a daughter and friend. Bought cheap tickets way in the outfield. The kids had better seats, so we were separated. The game went into overtime, and around the 12th inning, we`d had enough and wanted to leave so had to get a PA announcement for the kids to meet up with us. Have you ever heard a PA announcement in the Astrodome? Neither did the kids. We waited and waited. Finally, after 17 innings, someone won, don't remember who. The kids finally met up with us, but they were now going to go home with a friend's family. Went to the parking lot, but couldnt find the car. We checked with a security booth, but the car hadn't been towed. Margaret left me at the security booth and she walked over hill and dale to find the car, of course it was cold and rainy. The parking lot was pretty empty by now. Margaret found the car, which was out of sight from where we looking, circled around and picked me up. We were both cold, wet and exhausted. But we laughed, and made it into a story that I have re-told many times. Margaret spent a l-o-n-g day entertaining a cousin, and kept it enjoyable. I will miss her smile and good nature!

I loved Evelyn. Every time we'd meet, her smile and loving personality were such a bright spot in my day. I loved walking in to the Admin building and see her smiling at the front desk, where she often subbed for the receptionist. I loved having her sub at Cravens. She was a wonderful person and Kelley is one great example of a mother's love for her children. I know she will be missed by all. Hugs in Heaven, Miss Evelyn!

She was such a beautiful woman. I remember her sending over food to feed the staff at Carroll Elementary. We were always excited when she came around! I know that Kelley has a relationship with her mom that others only dream to have, and her teachings will live on in Kelley´s life as well.

My deepest sympathy,
Natalie Leger

One of my fondest memories of Miss Evelyn is when she was working at the administration building in Sheldon. She would greet me with humor, graciousness and we would talk and talk. I might´ve even been late to a couple of classes but I didn´t really care! She was very excited about moving in closer to town with Kelley and I know they spent a good bit of time doing some very fun things together. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.

Miss Evelyn was a wonderful friend. She kinda adopted my grandkids as her own. Many of days she spend with me, going to school with me to help out.
Doing the polar express ( making popcorn, hot chocolate) for the elementary school.
The two of us going to lunch, grocery shopping, or just talking on the phone for hours. She will be deeply missed. To her family please except my deepest sympathy. Not goodbye, but I´ll see you "miss Eve"
