EVELYN WOODS Obituary
83, passed early Thursday morning, October 10, 2013. She was the daughter of deceased Louis and Angela Kompare of Penn Hills. She is survived by one brother, Louis Kompare of Syracuse, NY and deceased sisters, Geraldine Melvin of Penn Hills and Audrey Schmidt of Lawrenceville, PA. Evelyn was married to Joseph Woods, deceased 2006, and Raymond Wallace, deceased 1956. Evelyn was a former telephone company employee, but dedicated her life to raising nine children: Joyce Basilone of Hamden, CT, Daniel Wallace of Suwanee, GA, Raymond Wallace of Marietta, GA, Michael Woods of Murrysville, PA, Lynn Laitinen of Butler, PA, Mary Jo Weightman of Derry, PA, Kelly LaQuatra of Strongsville, OH, Joseph Woods of Verona, PA, and deceased Patrick Wallace. She is survived by 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There will be a one day viewing at JOHN F. MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Butler and 52nd Sts., Lawrenceville, PA, between 2 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2013, and a Mass Monday morning, October 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish on 2nd St. in Verona, PA.

Dear Maryjo, Joyce and Woods Family members,
I am so very sorry to learn of your mom's loss. My son and I stopped at her house to visit with her and Sadie yesterday and got the feeling something happened. She was a wonderful person and I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to be in her company. She had great advice to give and I follow it today too. I know she was a wonderful mother because her children were so supportive to her. I'm sure you miss her, I will too. My condolences to you all.
