I met Everett in high school. I would run into him occasionally on construction jobs. Only recently did I learn of his passing. I'm sorry for your loss.

Dear Grandpa,
How heartbroken I am... we all are. As I sit here and type this, I can't help but reflect on all the memories that we shared together. I remember all the times I'd come to California to visit you with my family, dad, brother and sister and to see your face light up because you were so excited to see us was priceless. The last day I was in California was August 15th, 2011, after we had spent 45 days that summer with you. I remember kissing and hugging you and telling you I can't wait to see you again soon. That summer of 2011 was the best summer I've ever had and I'll never forget it. I am grateful to have had the chance to spend all those days with you. All the stories you'd tell us about how you grew up and how life was like back then is what I will always cherish. It's those memories I will live off of and remember you by. I remember how you would try to teach me how to play cribbage, but I was horrible at it. In honor of you I am determined to learn how to play it, and hopefully be as good as you were someday! You were the ultimate example of a man who was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and example for all of us to follow. And oh boy, did you have a sense of humor. You were always making me laugh. You taught me the importance of hard work and dedication. You are my inspiration. I will always miss you from being on this earth, but knowing you're in the presence of our Creator is comforting. Like He promised, no more pain or no more suffering. I hope heaven is treating you well. Isn't it amazing? I am so happy that you aren't suffering anymore. You now have a brand new body with a new heart and lungs, and you are with Jesus. I will never forget you as long as I live and I am beyond grateful that God placed you in my life. I love you my sweet Grandpa, with all my heart. Your legacy will live on forever. Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for touching my spirit. I can never thank you enough. One day we will be reunited again in the arms of one another. That day cannot come fast enough. Until then, It's not goodbye now... it's until I see you again. I love you with all of my heart, soul, and being. Rest in Peace Grandpa.

Hi Dad, it's me Yoli. i just wanted to say I love you so much. I'm heartbroken beyond words, but am eternally grateful to God for giving me the most wonderful Father-in-law in the world. You gave of yourself to your family, a man filled with love and such sacrifice. I will never forget you for as long as I live. Today as you are honored, just know that the kids and I are there with our hearts, our love and in spirit. I will not say good-bye, but "until we meet again"..
