Everett Walkinshaw

Everett Walkinshaw, age 90, Argusville, ND passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Everett was born March 10, 1925, in Gardner Township to George and Mabel (Gary) Walkinshaw. He went to school in Argusville and farmed with his father until 1956. He married Irene Eggert on July 12, 1947, in Fargo, ND. They moved to the family farm where they raised their six children and continued to farm until he retired in 1990. Everett was passionate about farming and meticulous about everything he did in life. He loved spending time with family and friends, dancing, summer vacations and winters in Arizona. He was an active member of Argusville UCC Church for many years. He will remain in our hearts and memories forever. Everett is survived by his wife of 68 years; daughters, Donna (Wally) Westrick, Karen (Rich) England, both Fargo; Lynn (John) Scott and Pam Toussaint, both Eden Prairie, MN; a son, Roger (Deb) Walkinshaw, Argusville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Mildred Walkinshaw, Eleanor Hanson, Marion Nedrebo; and brother-in-law, Clayton Nedrebo. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Johnson; parents; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Bertha Eggert; brother, Warren; and sister, Angie Sorvaag; and brothers-in-law, Harold Sorvaag and Russell Hanson and son-in-law, Thomas Toussaint. Everett's family would like to thank the staff who cared for him at Sanford Palliative Care, Bethany on 42nd and Villa Maria. Visitation: Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. Funeral: Thursday at 2 PM at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Fargo with visitation one hour prior. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
