Evertt Mozingo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 21, 2025.
Evertt Ray Mozingo passed away peacefully at his home in Lee's Summit, Missouri, on July 17, 2025. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 19, 1954. Evertt received his early education in Tulsa and completed high school in Skiatook, graduating in May 1973.

He became a husband and father at a young age and began his working career at Crain Carrier Company in Tulsa. After leaving CCC, he embarked on his lifelong profession as a paint and body man. In 1990, Evertt moved to Blue Springs, Missouri, where he continued in the trade and eventually retired from McCarthy Hyundai in 2021. He was highly skilled in his work and served as a mentor to many.

Evertt was an avid football fan-an Oklahoma Sooners supporter who became an even more passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan after relocating to Missouri. He loved attending games and watching them with his family. He also had the joy of coaching his son Blake in baseball and took great pride in watching him play.

Golf became one of Evertt's favorite pastimes, and he spent many weekends on the course. His children cherish memories of lake days and camping trips in his truck camper RV. Known affectionately by friends as "Eveready," Evertt was always working hard and had a gift for making others laugh, often with his signature playful teasing. As one of his favorite home health nurses once said, "He gave me a hard time, and I always gave him one right back."

Evertt was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. Mozingo, Elva M. Martin, and Glen Martin; his brother, Don Mozingo; and his sister, Phyllis Burns.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Norma Cassidy; his children, Angel Supernaw, April Hatch, and Blake Mozingo; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

To honor his life, the family will host a Celebration of Life Open House on Sunday, July 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 106 SW Madison St., Lee's Summit, MO, and on Thursday, July 31, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 210 W C Rogers Blvd., Skiatook, OK. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

So sorry for your loss. He was great to help take care of the dogs when the family was on vacation. May he rest in peace knowing he no longer has to deal with illness!

I first remember Everrt from when he coached my son Ross at around 11 or 12. Everrt was a great Coach of boys with humor and work ethic that allowed his team to have fun and get better. My son loved playing for Everrt and I am proud to have known such a fine man!
