LAIR, Fay Harold, Jr., "Boog," 54, devoted son, proud big brother and beloved uncle, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at home, in the company of loved ones. Boog was born in Tacoma, Wash. As the eldest child of an Air Force family he lived throughout the United States before settling in Tampa. Boog served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era and was a respected and decorated member of the US Army Rifle team. Boog loved the Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Life Scout and enjoyed hiking, camping and other outdoor activities, but was always drawn to the ocean, as a certified diver and enthusiastic surfer. He attended USF pursuing a Business degree. An avid golfer Boog played on the USF golf team, achieving a hole-in-one on a par five. However, Boog's first love was restoring and riding "Indian" motorcycles. In his late 20's Boog survived a debilitating motorcycle accident which changed his life forever, but through many surgeries and setbacks, he persevered and lived a good and loving l ife. Mostly Boog will be remembered as a source of joy, laughter and endless knowledge to those who were lucky enough to know him. Boog was preceded in death by his father, Fay Harold Lair, Sr.; brother, Bill; nephew, Patrick Tourville, niece, Becca Mitchell; and his beloved dog, Smokey. Boog will be sadly missed by his mother, Patricia Lair of Tampa; his brothers and sisters, Patrick Lair of St. Louis, Mo.; Patricia McCracken and husband Jon of Portland, Ore., Gigi Lair and husband Robin Hamlet of Ft. Myers; Rebecca Tourville and husband Mark of Tampa, JCC Lair of Atlanta, Ga., David Lair of Brandon, Paul Terence Lair of Orlando, Suzy Lair of Tampa, James "Ronly" Lair and wife Christy of Tampa, and Christopher Lair of Atlanta, Ga.; half-brothers, Brian Lair and wife Holly of New Port Richey, and Matthew Lair of New Port Richey; beloved nieces and nephews, Jessica, Rachel, Stephanie, Benjamin, Samantha, Nicholas, Anthony, Danielle, Jonathon, Andrew, Joseph, Matthew, Graham, Taylor, Philip, A dam and Anissa; grandnieces, Allison and Carla; and countless friends. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003 at Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home, 4040 W. Henderson Blvd. Graveside services for Boog will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2003 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Boog and his family asked that a special reminder be made that you get checked for colon cancer, a silent killer. MARSICANO-B. MARION REED STOWERS
