Faye Sullivan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 13, 2018.
Our beloved Faye of Independence, MO passed from this life and went on to her Heavenly home September 12,2018.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 15th at 12:30 pm with the funeral service following at 1:30 pm at Blue River Church of Christ.
Faye was born October 24,1931, in Byron, AR to Oscar and Effie Ford and was one of five children. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Vickie Sullivan (wife of the late Jan Sullivan) of Lee's Summit, MO; three granddaughters Pamela (Cade)Wood of Culleoka, TN; Cheryl (Jon) Sutton of Lee's Summit MO; Kelly Sullivan of Lee's Summit, MO; and 8 great-grandchildren Mali, Coen, Addison, Kale, Kinley, Cora, Zailey, & Dawson. She is also survived by her thee sisters Emma-Jean (the late George) Hinds of Jonesboro, AR; Margie (the late Roy)Banks of Independence, MO; and Sharon (Don) Lang of Independence, MO.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents Oscar & Effie Ford, a brother, Ernie Ford and her son, Jan Sullivan.
Faye was a sweet, quiet woman who believed in working hard and caring for others. She spent most of her career working in accounting for Sears. Faye was a simple woman who had no need for flashy things. What she did have was a love for the Lord. She was a dedicated member of Blue River Church of Christ and spent her life following God's commands. Many days if you arrived at her home you'd find her in her rocking chair with her Bible open and studying. She was an amazing Christian example to all around her. She was a wonderful mother to Jan and raised him to also be a strong Christian. Her granddaughters have fond memories of Saturday night sleepovers and watching the Lawrence Welk show and Heehaw.

Our Mother, Grandmother, Sister & friend will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation in Faye's name to Camp Tahkodah in Floral, AR. Faye's granddaughters grew up attending the small Christian camp held by Harding University and now her great-grandchildren attend as well. She always loved hearing their stories of camp and the spiritual impact it had on them.
