My dear Fr. Otterson rest in peace as your good deeds go with you. You were a great Drama teacher, a mentor, and a positive influence in my life. Much love to you and your family.

IT WAS A HONOUR KNOWING THIS MAN, HE USE TO VISIT HIS AUNTS IN OTTAWA AND THEN VISIT HIS COUSINS IN ARNPRIOR, HIS COUSINS BEING FLORENCE AND WILLAM OTTERSON. I BEING THE DAUGHTER OF WILLIAM OTTERSON. IT WAS ALWAYS A GREAT OCCASION TO SEE HIM, LOVED HIS LAUGHTER AND SENSE OF HUMOUR. HE WAS OFTEN THOUGHT OF.

Father Otterson was a wonderful teacher and person. I will always remember the smile, kindness and patience he had with everyone. He was definately a mentor to me. God bless you Father Otterson.

It's probably atypical that when one remembers his high school times and friends that he immediately remembers one of his teachers. Not so for those of us at St Mary's in the late ‘50's. Father Fee, a wonderful, humorous, and compassionate teacher. A teacher we truly called a friend.
I cannot think of my life without remembering the impact he had on me. It is without doubt that his belief in me (that I'd do well at university) when I'd done little to show I deserved it, helped me fulfill my dreams. (I do often chuckle to myself how he predicted I'd get 60 in Latin 30 and I got 61.)
He will be missed by all of us that had the privilege of being his student; it feels as if part of my soul has left.

I met Fe when he joined our pilgrimage to Ireland. My fondest memory is of Fe taking part in the entertainment at our medieval banquet - doing his part with great dramatic flare. A wonderful man. May he rest in peace.

We are saddened to hear of this announcement however very privileged to have known Father Otterson. He married my parents, my husband and I and many family and friends. He touched many student hearts with his positive outlook and enthusiasm. He was a teacher that really cared, was an excellent listener , advisor and was always encouraging to support your learning. He was a great spirit raiser at AO'B. He was one of the best! Our thoughts are with his family as you celebrate his life. He will be missed.

I wish I could say in this short time how much you mean to me. You were the best and I will miss you very much. You were the guy I could always call when I was having bad times at St. Joes and at N.A.I.T. and I will never forget it. You and Gary introduced me to the world of stage productions and made my years at AO'B some of the best and happiest time in my life. I am sure that God is telling you "Well done".

Graduation class - St Mary's High School 1960 ... Father Otterson was a good kind hearted man and I liked him and I think he liked me. I had skipped 3 weeks of school to play some pool at the Princess pool hall and was caught. Was summoned to St Anthony's Church rectory for a man to man talk and for my punishment the powers above Father Otterson, suspended me from school for a week ... so I enhanced my pool playing!
I remember his kindness and patience and he would be happy to know things turned out right for me and the man to man talk ... was not in vain. God Bless!

You were my inspiration during my years in the 70's at AOB. Then about 13 years ago I bumped into you in Hawaii and you recognized me instantly – after nearly 20 years! But that is how you are...you just never forgot anyone. And you will not be forgotten either. Rest in peace dear Fr. Otterson.

I shall always remember the warmth, devotion and humility with which Fee led our parish of St. John the Evangelist. I was also blessed to witness his wisdom and compassion in our work on Parish Council. Whether he was hopping down the aisle in bunny ears or gathering the children round him for a homily dressed as the Cat in the Hat, our children will forever treasure the fun he brought to their experience of church. It has been an honor, Fee!

"Father Fe" was an amazing man to so many. He will be remembered fondly.

Fr. Otterson, I will remember you always and I will forever feel indebted to you for helping me out at different times in my life. Glad we got to have a chat at your school opening, it meant a lot to me. Thank you again for helping me, for remembering me and for sharing part of your life with me.

Dear Father Fee: Well do I remember your valient efforts to imprint Latin into my reluctant head, done with patience and persistance. I eventually did pass Latin 30 and get into university. Thanks for the memories and may you rest in peace.

My deepest thank you for showing me what a kind, loving and non-judging God is truly like. Your guidance in and out of religious life will always be fondly remembered.

Even though I have long left the halls of AO'B, I have never forgotten the learning and nurturing that took place there and a large part of those memories are of a most wise and most compassionate teacher - Father Otterson. Thank you .

I felt like I'd lost a close family member when I heard about Monsignor Otterson's passing. He was one of my favourite teachers at Austin O'Brien high school. I was also fortunate to attend St.Michael Resurrection parish when Father Fee was there. Our paths crossed again at the school named in his honour as my granddaughter is a student there. His love of young people was still very evident.

Father Fee, you have influenced three generations in such a profound way. You taught my father at St. Joe's your first year teaching, then you taught my husband at AOB. Now my children attend the school named in your honor. You have touched our lives and our hearts. You will be greatly missed!

You touched many hearts Fee. You were what a teacher should 'be.' It was your calling and love for students that shone through so brightly. Many loved you and you loved them. You showed us what a 'full life' is all about.

As a 1962 graduate of St Mary's High School, I remember Father Otterson as a dedicated and caring teacher who was admired and loved by all. He was an inspiration to all his students and will be remembered by all who were fortunate to have known him.

Memories... So many memories. your picture graces every photo album our family owns. You befriended Dad in Education at the U of A. Went on to marry Mom and Dad and then to baptize all six of us; marry 4 out of 6 and then officiate at Dad's funeral.
I will never forget the mall raid during Religion 30 and meeting you for coffee at Second Cup, You insights and caring went beyond the realm of priest, You were truly a friend and I will miss you.

From nurturing us as students in school on life skills, performing our marriages, to consoling our sick and dying he has been with us every step of our lives, always with the best of advise in sad times, brightening our days with his infectious smile and a special way of always making you feel happy. A beautiful soul has been called home. Fee Otterson has left his mark on our hearts. He was my husband's drama teacher at AO'B and this has left a lifelong impact on him. He married us in 1984. My husband is working in China now and is unable to attend the funeral, but our prayers go out to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Remembering Fr Otterson for his kindness, humour and faith. His long tenure at AOB touched myself, my brother and sisters and my kids.

One of the books the Fee and I really enjoyed was book called Illusions.Here is a quote "Don't be dismayed at good byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
and meeting again after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends".- I shall have to remind myself of that from time to time.

I remember Father Otterson who came to the Ursuline Convent to celebrate Mass at 7:00 a.m. every morning when I first entered.
My family and I shared in the trip to the Holy Land with Father as our guide.

Father Fee; you've been in my family's life a long time; from teaching with dad at St Mary's to being one of the most engaging parish priests that I've met at our parish, St John's. Time to say goodbye. I will miss you.

Father "Fee" as we all knew him, will be dearly missed by the Al. Hiebert family. He was always there for us for baptisms,graduations,weddings,funerals, Grey Cup celebrations or just family gatherings. He was the "glue" in the AOB family of which many of us still remain a part of. I remember Monsignor Felix Otterson as "Father Fee", walking the hallways of Austin O'Brien High School, back in the '70's. He was always smiling and he always said hi to me!!

A gentle, kind man, who had a serenity about him, that left a peaceful imprint on my heart.
